CD Search Fields
Company Name
If you know the company simply type in the name in this field
Product code
Use this to find companies by different industry group, sector or product and
service. Click on the ‘Select’ button next to Product code. The Product Selection
window opens up.
The power of this database is its classification system, there are over 53,000 products &
services classification codes. Read the About tab for a primer on the classification
system to help you get best results.
Email Website Quality Rated Public Listed Regional HQ
Select these flags to restrict your search to companies ‘with email’, ‘with website’
etc.
Activities
Search for key words in the activity statement of the company.
Eg: type in “plastic” to find all the companies who have the word ‘plastic’ mentioned in their Nature of Business description.
Manufacturers and exporters of plastic products. Fabrication, vacuum forming and
thermoforming of rigid plastic sheet. Contract vacuum formers of sheet plastic.

This criteria is used to find companies with executives of the specific job title…
Eg: Administration Manager 1131, means that 1131 companies have a person listed
in this database with that (or similar) title.
Double click on the Value or code before the Job title and it will add to your list of
search criteria. Select multiple titles in the same way. Once your selection is done
click OK to return to the search page. Those Job codes are now in the Job Title
search field.

Search companies by their membership to business associations, and industry

Search by employee range.
“Unspecified” is where the number of employees is not mentioned.
You can also sort a search list by this criteria – see Other CD features.

Search by year of establishment.

User Notes
The user notes facility allows you to make your own notes against a company. You
could add a DDI line to your personal contact or a note to say that you had
contacted this company and the result.
If it is not applicable to display User Notes, eg in a library, you can turn them off
from the Advanced Settings box.
Print Function from CD ROM
Print Profile: You can print profile of the company by selecting or clicking on the
company, and then click on Print Profile from the File menu.
Print list of companies or Profile of all companies:
These options are available from the List menu.
You have the option to print the list of the companies or print full profile of all the
companies. If printing profiles you can chose whether or not to print the products
and services section of the profile.
Sort List by Number of Employees or Postcode
Use the options available in the Sort menu. This will change the search from an
alphabetical list to highest to lowest employee or lowest to highest postcode sorted
Load/Save List
These options are available from the List menu.
You can save this list (ID and Name only) to a CSV Comma Separated Value file.
You can edit this file externally and load it back in.
Hyperlinks
On the company profile the website is hyperlinked and will load in your default
browser.
The classification codes are hyperlinked. Click on a code to quickly find all
companies classified with this product and service. Also at the bottom of the
classification section is a hyperlink to search on all the above codes.
